This series of Silhouettes was inspired by the simplicity and vintage quality of the silhouette portrait. This technique became popular as an affordable way of having your likeness made quickly and was easily reproduced. The silhouette became widely used in the 1700’s and its popularity continued through to the late 1800’s.
These cards were created as a stylish way of sharing news or saying thank you.
