Macbeth Lady MacDuff

£900.00

Lady MacDuff is wealthy and earthly, a mother and a gentlewoman, she is vulnerable and a tragic victim in this dark play of ambition and greed.

This production of ‘Candlelit Macbeth ‘was set in the 11th century during a raw and turbulent time in the Scottish Highlands. The designs were inspired by the opulent book of Kells, imagining colours and fabrics that would have been fashionable in a wild Scottish castle. Written at the beginning of James I reign, a king obsessed with witches and their supposed powers and a reign of terror for women, the play speaks of ambition, greed and the power of suggestion and superstition.

This series of designs used oil-based marbling inks, with pen and ink for the details.

Artwork approximate measurements are 29cm by 41cm, framed measurement is 43cm by 55cm.

Artwork comes in a black frame with a double mount in white and black with acrylic glass for safety when shipping, if glass is preferred, please email at patsy@patsyfraser.com
