A Midsummer Night's Dream Asleep in her Bower.
'Asleep in her Bower' watches the sleeping Titania, Queen of the fairies from Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. She is made from the morning mist, she sleeps in her bower while Puck drops Oberon's love potion into her eyes.
This production of ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’ was set in a contemporary summer festival where everyone is frolicking to distant music in the surrounding woods. The show was set in an outside auditorium during a balmy summer evening and sparkled with the fun of a music festival. The traditional fairies have become shape-changing beings who float and twist like mist on the air. Each marbled piece was carefully manipulated and then pulled from the water to create the shape-changing beings.
Artwork made with oil inks and finished with pen and ink.
The original is approximately 41cm x 48cm, framed size is 55cm by 62cm.
Artwork comes in a black frame with a double mount in white and black with acrylic glass for safety when shipping, if glass is preferred, please email at patsy@patsyfraser.com
