Frankenstein and Electricity

Frankenstein learns of the power of electricity when he is a teenager and has the theory explained by a man of great reason, a natural philosopher. This picture is of the moment Frankenstein becomes obsessed with the concept of electricity and galvanism.

This Candlelit version of Frankenstein was set in 1816/17 when Mary Shelly wrote the first draft one stormy night. The story is told by Mary and includes scenes with Mary, Percy, Byron and Polidori who all compete in the challenge to write the most terrifying horror story.

Artwork was created using marbling inks both oil and water based and collaged with images sourced from early nineteenth century fashion plates, finished with pen and ink.

The artwork measures approximately 32cm by 32cm, framed measurement being 46cm by 46cm.

Artwork comes in a black frame with a double mount in white and black with acrylic glass for safety when shipping, if glass is preferred, please email at patsy@patsyfraser.com
