Frankenstein The Monster
The Monster
The monster is not too terrifying to look at when dressed, but as the story unfolds, he is a terrifying vision to behold. As his jealousy for Elizabeth grows and his misery increases his appearance descends into something monstrous.
This Candlelit version of Frankenstein was set in 1816/17 when Mary Shelly wrote the first draft one stormy night. The story is told by Mary and includes scenes with Mary, Percy, Byron and Polidori who all compete in the challenge to write the most terrifying horror story.
Artwork was created using marbling inks both oil and water based and collaged with images sourced from early nineteenth century fashion plates, finished with pen and ink.
The artwork measures approximately 32cm by 28cm, framed measurement being 46cm by 42cm.
Artwork comes in a black frame with a double mount in white and black with acrylic glass for safety when shipping, if glass is preferred, please email at patsy@patsyfraser.com
