Macbeth Lady Macbeth Loses It!

£800.00

‍ ‍'Lady Macbeth Loses It!'. This design shows Lady Macbeth losing her mind and starting to look like and take on the presence of the Witches. The play focuses on the couple’s ambition and the Witches powers of suggestion and profound influence on their destruction.

This production of ‘Candlelit Macbeth ‘was set in the 11th century during a raw and turbulent time in the Scottish Highlands. The designs were inspired by the opulent book of Kells, imagining colours and fabrics that would have been fashionable in a wild Scottish castle. Written at the beginning of James I reign, a king obsessed with witches and their supposed powers and a reign of terror for women, the play speaks of ambition, greed and the power of suggestion and superstition.

This series of designs used oil-based marbling inks, with pen and ink for the details. The painting comes in a black frame with a double mount in white and black.

If you would prefer to have a different frame or the artwork without at frame, please email me at patsy@patsyfraser.com
