The Victorian Dancers are part of the Silhouette series inspired by the simplicity and vintage quality of the silhouette portrait. This technique became popular as an affordable way of having your likeness made quickly and was easily reproduced. The silhouette became widely used in the 1700’s and its popularity continued through to the late 1800’s.
Originally designed as a backdrop for a production of the opera Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi. These silhouette cards were created as a gentile way of sharing joyful news.
Original designs are black card on cartridge paper.
Cards are on 350gsm paper and comes in size A6 with envelopes.
